What to check before you book a 4x4 / off-road
- Rental contracts often exclude gravel, river crossings and unpaved roads even for a 4x4. Read the terms before you drive off the tarmac.
- Check that the car has winter or all-terrain tyres if you travel in cold months.
- Insurance for wheels, glass and underside damage is worth pricing separately for these vehicles.
